Shared storytelling art & demo (Chinese Folk Tale) with Muskegon Community College students tonight + Q& A session. Watched them work, too.

Got back yesterday; did a Norway Fest gig in Wisconsin, lots of Scandinavian Troll Stories, & other fantasy folks, with some creative drama.

Hi Craig, If you find yourself passing along the info on our Michigan Storytelling network -- & I hope you do, please send them to http://michiganstorytelling.socialgo.com which looks like it will replace this Ning site. I really need people to…

Movin' & Shakin"

Care to be the 1st (I'm not counting myself) at our new network replacing this if folks try it & we work out the transition?  We've a few months, butwant to switch a.s.a.p. so if SocialGo is a No Go we can try some otheroptions.  Go tohttp://michiganstorytelling.socialgo.com, sign up & try to do all you have done here.  I considered all the FREEoptions & this looks very promising with the most to offer us.I'd normally post…See More

Thanks for the response, Yvonne. I'll check with Storytell. Figured to ask here since it's what will affect us, but I'm sure the varied opinions there will have even more experience to draw upon. Haven't yet tried to call Karen…

How will Karen be paid for her professional advice? I bet StoryTell-ers will advise for free & you're experienced at sifting their responses. Google seems to work fine for me. Live chat is not something I desire. Cool idea about having…

Responses on the Google & Yahoo options & other suggestions are definitely needed! Just went to the info Google offers. It looks as if Photos & probably videos, since YouTube is a Google item, should be possible. The way I could do this…

Hi, Lois What are the policies with Google groups? I certainly don't know very much about any of this, but Northlands seems to be able to carry on discussions this way, both at the board and membership levels. Do they charge? Jean

URGENT! TANSTAAFL

There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch supposedly.  I just learned as of July Ning networks will no longer be free.  Go to http://about.ning.com/announcement/to see what's coming.  Theleast expensive option of about $20 a year offers Blogs, Photos, Forumand Video embeds.  We could still list Events, buthere it would be only via our personal blogs.  Of course you can always list on the monthly email list of MI Story & the Bulletin Board of…See More

Go to http://wheresmyquarter.blogspot.com/ & scroll down to the Apr. 27 posting of an unsolicited video recommending what Sean does for an additional recommendation.

MichiganStorytelling.Org changes!

Everything changes. If you go to http://MichiganStorytelling.Org, you will see it's changed format & even is no longer what's called a "naked domain" <GASP!> Relax, it just means the web address is now http://www.MichiganStorytelling.Org. ; The ISP where it was based was dropping that free (I just pay for the domain name) add-on to my storytelling business website. They recommended 2… Continue

This is NOT a commercial site!

Just discovered ning had added Gifts here. You could buy & give them a la Facebook. That was news to me & I'm the site admin/founder. Went to the behind-the-scenes spot where I can cope with what happens here. Surprise, there now was a Gift feature added. It pointed to ways this site could earn $ with Gifts. When I chose No Gifts, it reminded me I'd lose any gifts currently being chosen. Sorry. Let me know if that was something you didn't like. Unless it's a feature a lot of our members… Continue

How other ning sites can help here

The FAQ Group exists to answer questions, but parts of our site seem confusing as we start here. Some discovered the value of MyPage, telling about ourselves, maybe listing a website or photos. Events were easily used. Chat is something many understand, so it should be easy for any wishing to use it. The value of the Forum & Groups seem underutilized. I've a suggestion that may help.

Go to 2 related ning sites. See Professional Storyteller at… Continue
